Tassels have been swishing and swirling on the ramps and red carpet this season. From being tied together in a bunch to long strands, there’s a style for it all! From Valentino’s tasselled belts on gowns to Burberry’s hemline add-on, these long strands were set to move with you. While Oscar de la Renta added multi-colour strands to white, Ralph & Russo were seen knotting it around necklines. On the celebrity front too, from Charlize Theron, Laura Dern, Susie Lau to Shobhita Dhulipala & Sonam Kapoor, the tassel twirls were everywhere! Denim is on a double rage this season and we’re totally ready to style it up – in a head-to-toe format! Denim made a comeback this season in all its vintage forms. There’s a new clothing game-changer in town with knots, stitches and Summery flows! Any guesses? It’s the era of the Scarf! And NOT in an accessory format. Scarf, scarf everywhere and not just in the hair or air. Scarves this Spring-Summer 2020 have taken a turn towards mainstream clothing. In all it’s print and quirky formats, this season it’s all about the drapes and wearing them as clothes rather than accessories. ‘Cut it Short’, ‘Short cuts’ and ‘cool cuts’ have been the call of the ramps this Spring-Summer 2020. After all the biker shorts rage that we saw last season, there’s a new version in town! The Bermuda suits! This season workwear took a turn towards the casual-cool vibe with a Bermuda trend. Also known as mom shorts, these usually hover around the knee and is THE vacation outfit since the 40s. This trend took off during the 30s and 40s where this style was in sync with the yachting, resorting lifestyle of the elite. During the same time, Claire McCardell translated these styles for activities like gardening and exercise. These shorts came under the limelight during the 50s again, in full plaid form for grad students. Not that’s versatility at it’s best! Say hello to the new power dress of the season! The key highlights? Imagine the 70s, the Disco collar, long blazers, waistcoats and flared pants – all coming together to form the suit. The Pant Suit. Quoting Barney Stinson (’cause of course we have to!), it is time to Suit Up! And that too, in all the vintage looks and three-piece suits. Low slung trousers, power shoulders, disco collar and an array of colours were visible across all the ramps and runways.
