We, millennials, are a one-of-a-kind lot. We travel like there is no tomorrow, we read the news on our smartphones and we prefer adopting dogs to having kids! Well, we #UnTradition by adding our own touch to pretty much everything we do.
So, when we went around asking a few young women and men what they were doing differently this festive season, here’s what we got to hear:
1. Declutter + Donate = Diwali
… no new cosmetics, no new festive decorations or crockery. Instead, I’m packing my unused outfits and more items to give to those in need.
2. Pressing the ‘Paws’ button on the noise
…but I am off on a beach holiday with my dog instead! 🐶
3. Meaningful Does It!
…but in person, after 6 years. It’s going to be quite a surprise!
4. Laddoo Taboos
… but encouraging home bakers by picking their homemade treats. Healthy choices for me and for the ones I gift them to!
5. A Golden Thought
… just because dad asked me to! Instead, my wife is buying her own gold jewellery that she can wear to work.
6. Diwali Time = Me Time
… but am so excited for my first solo trip to Europe.
7. DIY over DIYAS
….but decorating with recycled paper lamps that I made with my little sister.
8. Green is Grand
…but I have decided to give plants to everyone who visits us home to wish for Diwali.
9. ‘Framily’ Time
…but have called my friends and frolleagues over for a pyjama party on Diwali night!
So, what’s your kinda Diwali looking like? Let us know!
