AW 20/21: Beauty is in the Dark #TrendAlert

Winter is grey. And grey vibes great with black. How about we spice up the dark drama this Autumn Winter 20’21?!

This AW 20’21, Black is the colour code of the season. Dark Black is making a unique statement with an all-new bold format. Inspired by the story of Maleficent, this hue symbolizes how complex good and evil can be. And how they go hand-in-hand. This pandemic has been something of that sort. As complex as it seems, we found some good too within the darkness.

Dapped up!

Ramps and Runways have always had a love for black. But this season, the affair was explicit and swanky. Be it Balenciaga’s head-to-toe velvet Black gowns that perfectly melts with Maleficent. Or adding pleats work to Rick Owens’ OTT take – Black meant both beauty and power in this trend. While Chocheng did not shy away from adding fur to the dark beauty. Givenchy took a feminine route with sassy and bold sleeve play. Black was all over & here to stay – with a dark red lipstick on the go!

Net-A-Porter’s OTT displays of all black attires were a view to awe! With Y Project’s big collar sinister black drama stole all the eyes!

Dark & Distinct!

With the aura so black, how could celebs stay untouched with it? While Jennifer Aniston was all set to flaunt for the red carpet, Tracee Ellis Ross, Kat Dennings & Kerry Washington were wearing this dark hue with high feminine pride! Everyone had their own style statement to add to it.

On the home front too, hardly anyone was not draped black! From Taapsee Pannu, Shehnaaz Gill, Malaika Arora to Nushrat Bharucha and Krystel Desouza there was a dark drama set to show!

Designer’s Quote:

Creating a dark statement this season, Black was in all its beauty and power. Translated from the movie Maleficent, it was a take on anti-fairytales & the complexity of good and evil. Taking inspiration from these two contrasts, we created a range in gold with geometric motifs and both Black & clear diamonds for a new way to caz.

Our Collection

Taking inspiration from this dark and dapper trend, we’ve created a range in gold with black and white diamonds. Focusing on the yin and yang theme, Black is now all set for bold casuals too.
