Flowers All About

From the Flower Power Movement to Fall Winter 2021, florals are taking over yet again. It’s a bouquet bash this season with a drizzle of dahlias, a downpour of daisies and a romance with roses! From floral masks to outfits with flowers all over and flower-inspired accessories, ‘tis the season of Awesome Blossom!

A trend prevalent in the 1900s, it became wide stream during the ’60s and ’70s. Florals were always an on and off fashion statement. Although more prevalent during Spring-Summer, this time it’s Autumn-Winter that has its own rendition of this petal perfect trend. Wonder what Miranda Priestly would think of it now!

Designers Go Floral

Designers seem to love love love florals! From Oscar de la Renta to Kenzo, the trend is blooming bright on the runway. Victoria Beckham added a sprightly appeal with bold and bountiful floral prints. On the other hand, Rodarte and Jason Wu opted for a dreamy look with a hand-painted aesthetic for floral prints!

At the same time, Kenzo and Jonathan Cohen seemed to have a budding romance with roses in hot shades of red and orange. Giambattista Vali and Erdem went flower power max with bunched tight prints with daisies and dahlias, while Lela Rose opted for some 3D fun with applique like roses. The ramps were indeed flower-friendly this season, and there was no stopping them – At All. Dolce & Gabbana also took the route of their signature floral print, while Lanvin, on the other side, surprised us all with a tiny daisy print in crimson!

A Bouquet of Celebs

The scent of flowers was fresh with the celebs as well this season! The A-listers seemed to blossom into this trend, with Irina Shayk and Lili Reinhart at the MET Gala 2021 to Kendal Jenner roaming leisurely in her garden! The lovely Kitty Spencer was also a delight in a powder blue gown drizzled with a bit of pink flora.

On the other hand, JLo said baroque and rococo with a bold floral set and an equally bold cape and headpiece to match! Meanwhile, Kendal Jenner had her relaxed vibes on point with a flowy vintage dress in pink splattered across with a bunched flower print.

All eyes were on Irina Shayk as she shimmied down the red carpet of the MET Gala this year in a sheer gown amped up with blooming flowers. Meanwhile, Lili Reinart paid tribute to the theme with a dress adorned with flowers from all the states of America! The Venice Film Festival too saw some blossoming looks by Cynthia Erivo and Barbara Palvin. Both decked up in floral applique gowns – So very Oshibana!

B-Town fell in love with the trend too! Janhvi Kapoor was a sight for sore eyes in a red and white floral sundress. At the same time, Neha Sharma opted for a black version with pink roses. On the other hand, Nora Fatehi was bright as day, channelling bold red daisies, whereas Sonam Kapoor opted for delicate floral print on her matching skirt set, oh so elegant indeed! Yami Gautam too hopped on the floral train, with a delightful twirling in her easy-breezy dress sprayed with cornflower blue flora.
