Spring-Summer 2022 begins with a fresh new trend to scan! This season, it’s time to swipe right on stripe because fashion is all about a barcode vibe!
As Autumn-Winter 2021 ends, Spring-Summer 2022 envelops us with fresh fashion. And stripes are in this season! It’s a linear love for this edgy trend from all kinds of stripes in various densities, be it monochrome or colour blocked.
Designer’s take
The runway was a-buzz with stripped looks! From Marni to Schiaparelli, lines were more prominent than ever. Carolina Herrera’s elegant stripes won everyone over, and Marni’s rustic vibes were just as charming. On the other hand, Schiaparelli’s maximalist charm definitely had us swooning. Tory Burch played around with silhouettes while Kenneth Ize added a bit of whimsy. Sunnei, too, was all over this trend with some illusionary looks!
Celebrity style
The stars were all about this stripe tribe this season! From Hailey Baldwin Bieber’s subtle look to Doja Cat’s OTT ensemble, stripes were running wild in tinsel town. Emma Roberts and Lily Collins kept it strictly monochrome while 90s supermodel Naomi Campbell walked boldly in colour block. Fashion icon Zendaya donned her stripes sleek in a body-hugging gown.
B-Town, too, had their own story ’line’. Ananya Panday opted for a co-ord set with a cute mini skirt while Shanaya Kapoor amped up her look with an oversized striped shirt. Many others that indulged in this bold trend were Nargis Fakhri, Alaya F, Katrina Kaif and Diana Penty, to name a few.
