Sustainability is in, everything else is out! Spring-Summer 2020 is changing the fashion game, and with it comes in a new fabric – Raffia! There’s an African inspiration in town, and we’re totally in awe! Made out of Raffia palm leaves, this trend is woven in a typical basketweave pattern. However, this season it went to another level! Incorporating modern techniques and their flair, it was quite a spectacle to watch! A sustainable soft fibre, it is the new path of eco-friendly clothing. Sustainable, ethical, eco-conscious, are no longer just words but have transformed into what we call fashion today. Spring Summer 2020 gave us a whole macro trend of Climate Change. With designers showcasing their take on recycling, reusing and upcycling, it was about saving our environment. And more than that, it was about leaving a better world for our future generations, than just stories! This Spring Summer 2020, think recycle, think reuse, think ethical! Fashion is taking a turn this season, for the environment. Our Earth has been calling out to us for quite some time now. With the increasing pollution and the changing climate, there’s been a lot of things. And this season took inspiration and called out its support for just that. Fashion got increasingly conscious this season and decided to take a more sustainable route. With lesser productions, streamlined shows, recycling and upcycling materials, the atmosphere was raw.
