‘Prim and Proper, but with a quirky accent’ is what the AW 2018/19 had to say about the Tweed trend. Combining the OTT fashion and the sophistication of work front, we’re bidding farewell to the season, with a whole lot of love for tweed!
An 80’s favourite, this season’s tweed trend had its own personality with its supersized silhouettes and shape-shifting swagger. While Marc Jacobs paired oversized tweed coats with leather skirts, Anna Sui was all about floor length skirts with fringed coats. Besides the designers, celebrities like Amal Clooney, Michelle Obama and Reese Witherspoon also showed their solidarity with this trend. Even on our home ground, there was Deepika Padukone’s monochrome pantsuit and Priyanka Chopra’s trench coat for a little funky and chic style. This uber sophisticated style climbed the top of the ladder with its bold colours and textures.
And hence, we couldn’t really overlook this trend now, could we?
