This Autumn-Winter 2020/21, dark black has made an unapologetic comeback. Between dark humor and a show-off attitude – the “Black” magic haunted the ramps for a gothic revival. Talk about soft drapes, comfy structures, and statement hats, it’s all about being bodacious in Black. With sheer sooty soul and enough of OTT drama, this dark ebony hue is definitely THE representative of merriness in the pandemic.
Ebony Non-Stop!
Ramps and runways, this fall were overflowing with the stark monochrome soot love. While Alberta Ferretti added tassels and frills to this hue, Givenchy chose the edgy road to head-to-toe ensemble. Here, Carolina Herrera came up with adding cutworks and flared waistlines. And for Dior, taking the classic ebonized Bohemian was a fun filler.
With Balenciaga adopting the elementary head-to-toe ebonized look, there was a literal black charm at work. While Altuzarra was all about the casual and fun dark twists. Burberry had to be visually and metaphorically dark through all!
Rodarte had to keep the feminine side up for the dark but merry pretty ladies!!
Just when you wonder, how much more can be done with this colour! Enters Anna Sui with Matrix met Hogwarts style ebony! Oscar de la Renta and Carolina Herrera had to save the party chic angle. This made the winters merry even in dark.
