‘Cut it Short’, ‘Short cuts’ and ‘cool cuts’ have been the call of the ramps this Spring-Summer 2020. After all the biker shorts rage that we saw last season, there’s a new version in town! The Bermuda suits! This season workwear took a turn towards the casual-cool vibe with a Bermuda trend. Also known as mom shorts, these usually hover around the knee and is THE vacation outfit since the 40s. This trend took off during the 30s and 40s where this style was in sync with the yachting, resorting lifestyle of the elite. During the same time, Claire McCardell translated these styles for activities like gardening and exercise. Sustainability is in, everything else is out! Spring-Summer 2020 is changing the fashion game, and with it comes in a new fabric – Raffia! There’s an African inspiration in town, and we’re totally in awe! Made out of Raffia palm leaves, this trend is woven in a typical basketweave pattern. However, this season it went to another level! This Spring Summer 2020, think recycle, think reuse, think ethical! Fashion is taking a turn this season, for the environment. Our Earth has been calling out to us for quite some time now. With the increasing pollution and the changing climate, there’s been a lot of things. And this season took inspiration and called out its support for just that. Fashion got increasingly conscious this season and decided to take a more sustainable route. With lesser productions, streamlined shows, recycling and upcycling materials, the atmosphere was raw.
