Beginning around the 1920s by Irving Schott as the first leather motorcycle jacket for Harley Davidson for its protective quality from just being a military garment, leather found its future course in fashion. This SS’21, leather is making its comeback, majorly in three different versions. One is the logo print at Chanel. The second is the sporty look with a bourgeois twist at Celine. And, third is the futuristic and oversized version at Louis Vuitton. It’s safe to say that the runways were all set with their leather weather takes!
Celine’s suave collection had all the cool-chic jackets, while Gabriela Hearst’s head-toe leather outfits were to die for.
Using leather as jumpsuits and peplum tops was the highlight of Isabel Marant’s collection. How can we miss the Louis Vuitton’s crop jackets with classic leather pants – suave was used in all styles and forms!
Celeb Suave Love
Some super capes are suaved ones. It has been established that the off-duty outerwear of major celebrities has been the biker jacket. But heeding to the demands of the season, the celebs too were flaunting their leather looks – not just in biker jackets. From Dua Lipa, Ariana Grande, Dakota Fanning to Kendal Jenner, and Lady Gaga – it was time to add some edgy luxe.
Jacqueline Fernandez’s top-to-bottom tanned suave attire and Sara Ali Khan’s leathered bandeau top with classic suave pants, were totally up for recreation!
On the home front too, suave love was quite evident. From Parineeti Chopra, Disha Patani, and the newbies like Sara Ali Khan, Alaya F, and Suhana Kapoor, all were flaunting their luxe shine.
