Colours, moods, occasions, prints, fashion this Spring Summer 2019 has given us a bit of everything. If you like print there’s floral, polka, tie and dye. If you’re about colours, there’s sand, pastels, yellow. In case you like silhouettes, there’s ruffles, fringe and lace! Spring Summer was a breath of fresh air and sunny vibes and we still have all the feels for it.
The global ramps were bursting with all things colours and prints and so were all the red carpets! Since international designers like Etro, Chanel and Lonchamp had something to celebrate, they went all out to flaunt their staple designs. With Etro’s Paisley & Surf Turf vibe and Longchamp’s 70s inspired fringe looks, the arena was filled with all the summer vibes everyone needed for a boost. Chanel’s show was a trip down the beach with Karl Lagerfeld on your side. And we’re sure that everyone gladly took that route.
While the ramps were filled with all the summer inspirations, celebs weren’t too far behind. On both international and home front, celebrities like Gigi Hadid, Kendall Jenner, Brie Larson and Priyanka Chopra, Deepika Padukone and Sonam Kapoor to name a few, were all set to dazzle these spring-summer trends. From going OTT on the red carpet to the subtlest day looks of Cannes, there was a lot going on.
And after all the ramps, runways and red carpets, the streets couldn’t stay behind now, could they? And this time we’re talking about Just That! Taking inspiration from the catwalks, fashionistas were heading down the streets in their interpretations. So here’s what the Spring Summer 2019 trends, looked at the streets:
#1. Sand Colour Trend
A turn from all the colour rage, the sand shades had all the desert summer vibes. Ranging from beige, caramel to tan, butterscotch and peach, there was something subtle for us all this season! Pair up different shades or go monochrome head to toe, the choice is all yours. And the colour is definitely meant for all.
#2. Tie And Dye
The psychedelic craze is back! And this time in all its glory too. With multi-colour prints, there was a whole range seen on the streets. From dresses, tops to trousers and hoodies, there’s a tie and dye for all. A perfect pick for all casuals, this is the way to go in the sun!
The oh-so-subtle colour was even more subtler and softer this season. With head-to-toe fashion on the go, pair up different pastel shades for those sunny day outs or add a pastel hue to your officewear, these shades add that feminine yet classy tinge to your attire.
#4. All Over Flowers
The print mania was on and flowers couldn’t stay behind now, could they? With blooming floral print going all over, the streets were totally ready to add this print with a twist. Pick up a small floral print and go head-to-toe in a matching outfit or add it on with an all-white ensemble, one thing is clear. Brunches have never looked prettier.
#5. Polka Dot
Polka made a comeback this season in all its black and white glory. Whether you like a small print or one with massive polkas, this trend is Made for all occasions. Pick up a polka shirt to pair with your black trousers or a polka dress for a girls day out, these dots are a must-have this season. Flaunt the dot in your own style.
Lace became a whole lot grungier and a lot less feminine this season. And women around the world were surely ready to show off their new pairing style. One of the street favourites: pairing up a black or white lace dress with black boots and a leather jacket. This is THE grunge inspiration you need for all your day to evening wear.
A motif led revolution, the paisley print got a revamp this spring-summer season. From deconstructed form to patchwork, from ornate to subtle, there was paisley everywhere. Go with flowy dresses, a top or wrap-a-round dresses, the paisley print will make you stand out of the crowd.
From all its twirly effects, the fringe will always be a party favourite. But this time, it’s for your casual wear too! With knots and crimps in a hand-made effect, fringe was seen all over and even on the hemlines. Go subtle with a fringe skirt or maybe a jacket, or choose to go all out with a fringe layered dress perfect for your dance night. The options are endless!
The Bright and sunny yellow this season carried all the spring vibes we needed to boost our mood. Not just for casuals but also for your workwear! Pick up a shirt dress and pair it with brown brogues or go with a white-yellow ensemble, this colour will surely brighten up your mood and make you get rid of your Monday blues.
#10. California Girl
It’s California Calling! And we’re all ready to answer. The beach vibe in all its seashells, colours and waves, this trend was a mix of all trends.
