Eccentric prints and symmetrical lines, this AW 20/21 is all about flaunting unique colours and patterns! Are you ready to deck up the art?!
With whimsical prints & lines in symmetry, it’s about flaunting unique colours, quirks & with an effortless vibe too. From Jellyfish motifs to geometric ones, there’s a print play in action.
After enjoying its heyday in the 1920s and 30s, Art Deco has made a radical comeback. This Autumn-Winter 2020/21, not just the luxury interior design market, this Deco trend is dominating the fashion world too! Thanks to its elegant and sophisticated aesthetic, plus the experimental take by designers, the Art Deco trend has us swooning!
Let’s Deck-it-up!
Bringing new winter energy, the Art Deco trend took over all the ramps and runways in a head-to-toe ensemble. From flaunting unique colours in symmetrical streaks to eccentric designs, this trend is bringing out an effortless vibe. This print play is worth the inspiration, considering the royal history it presents.
Talking about the ramps, Alexander McQueen’s collection was all about going bold with all-over patterns mixed with dark tones. The collection proved to be perfect chic casual for the season! If we see Loewe’s collection, artistic take is very intelligently paired with pleats and puffy long sleeves, bringing out all the dramatic vibes you need.
And just when you thought this trend couldn’t get more versatile, Dries van Noten added a bold take to the deco with Art! Using lines as textures, with a pint of bold repetitive designs to it, this collection was bound to turn heads. Stella McCartney, on the other hand, added its signature love for nature to this deco trend! With Jellyfish motifs to designs that are simultaneously geometric and spherical, it’s all about embracing the pastiche of influences behind the Art Deco movement.
While Oscar de la Renta’s very sleek symmetric geometry work was one to steal the eyes, Prada’s brilliant placement of deco on the entire ensemble definitely had another antique anecdote in store. This head-to-toe concord is all about bringing an easy outlook to this Art archive.
Deco For Art’s Sake!
After this Art Deco trend turned every eye on the runways with its archived energy, the celebs too were quick to pick it up! From Jennifer Lopez, Kim Kardashian, and Allison Brie flaunting the black and white geometric Deco art, to Lilly Collins, Maria Pedraza, and Ava Max, bringing out the print play in action with style, Art Deco was all over the place!
On the home front, too, the Deco love was all over. From Suhana Khan, Mouni Roy and Priyanka Chopra’s casual take on this trend, to Kiara Advani, Alia Bhatt, Jacqueline Fernandez and Norah Fatehi’s bold Deco Art-spiration that kept us gaping in awe, there was an art movement on the go. Our personal favourite, Jennifer Winget’s deco taste that had an all-day-every-day vibe to it! In short, all close to home were also seen vibing to this trendy-antique love affair.
