My First gold after my first trip!
In my late teens, I went through a lull – in love, life and work! Everything was getting boring, and nothing excited me. So, I decided to try an adventure to stir things up, to do something I had never done before. The options I was given were many – get a new car, move to a new city, start a side business, try a new drink, a new high, but Nah…. Nothing rang a bell. Till my sister suggested, I take a holiday – solo trip! Being a social person, the idea scared me, so I instantly decided to go for it. Trust me, it was the most exhilarating, life-altering experience ever. I came back as a reformed person. I had a new lease on life, and I documented this new-me with my first-ever gold buy – a sparkly white gold and diamond bracelet.

My First Win Became My First Gold!
From a very young age, I knew I wanted to be a designer. So, when I won my first award for ‘best designer’, with a substantial cash-reward attached to it, I was over the moon. I felt as if – I had arrived! I wanted to capture the joy, that moment and that feeling of approval forever. So, being a jewellery designer, I naturally turned to gold and bought my gorgeous bracelet, to mark the victory. And now, it acts as a constant reminder to strive towards my goals and keep doing what a love!

My first gold was a gift from me, to me!
I remember it was on my birthday. While my (south Indian) mother was bickering on about me wearing too much silver and no gold, I was desperately looking to buy myself something that would last forever, something that wouldn’t bankrupt either, you know. I celebrated my break-up with gold!
Heck yeah! I did that, and trust me, it was the most liberating experience ever! The break up was quite dramatic, letters were torn, bad words spewed and lots of angry texts exchanged. He was my first boyfriend, it was my first relationship – hence my first break-up. It felt pretty brutal at that point, but after wreathing in self-pity and self-induced sadness for months in the end, I took stock of myself – and my life. I wanted to do something as dramatic as the break up was. So, I decided to mark this extremely important life-milestone with gold. Well, it turned out to be the perfect closure. Also, I am an accessory hoarder, so the decision turned out to be a win-win situation!

My First Melorra Buy is my first gold
I am a compulsive online shopping and don’t remember the last time I set foot in a shop or a mall. I love the convenience that shopping online bring, the flexibility of delivery, the vast range of choices and the affordable prices, not to forget. So, during one of my such online shopping spree, I stumbled across Melorra. And boy, was I hooked? I guess I didn’t log out till I checked out every last jewellery of theirs.
