Yes, Fringe is back – bigger, shinier and more fabulous than before! Moving beyond the density of fringes that we saw during SS18’, this A/W is all about shimmer, sway & sass!

Whether it was Alberta Ferretti with his strands of shimmer, Valentino with fringe nude dress or Prabal Gurung’s outrageously fluid fringe that sways with you while you walk – it is time to get your fringe-tastic fashion game on!

All that (Glitter) Fringe!

Well, we fell with love with the SS18’s Over-The-Top fringes, which was both fun-loving and experimental in nature. And again, we are crushing hard over this season’s minimalistic and subtle style that is perfect to define your everyday style! This time, every strand has a story, and every fringe is individually fabulous!

Go Colours!

From pastel shades on Lady Gaga’s red carpet outfit or the deep green of Pamella Roland’s fashion show, fringes are defining the colour trend of AW 18/19. From neon to ombre, meaning, from daywear to evening wear, your wardrobe is set.

Fringe goes Sparkly!

Fringe has a new party-ready personality this season. With the addition of shimmer, this trend will take you from the boardroom to a dancefloor in a jiff. Perfect for the festive season, we say! Gucci’s addition of diamond strands and tassels on apparels & shoes is the apt descriptor of the trend.

Macro Trend: Nostalgia

Aw18/19 in a gist – Glum + Glitter = Fashion! Therefore, this season’s fringe is all about singular strands that add texture to the base of kaftan dresses, straight silhouettes and deep V-necklines. Created from a range of materials like silk to neon plastic, the more the colours, the merrier.

Dating back to the 1920s, fringe had been in the fashion limelight for over a decade now. So, what you’d see on the red carpets, ramps and social media this season, would a reflection of that Victorian trend, but with a brand new persona. So, make space for some fringy outfits, jewellery and shoes, in your wardrobe!

Fringe in Jewellery!

From fabric to accessories, fringe is now on everything! Shoes, bags, belts, home décor and now even jewellery!  In an accurate interpretation of the trend, fringe jewellery would feature scores of diamonds on dangling strands of gold, just like on the shimmery fabrics mingling with threads. Also because, this season, less is more! So, blingier the better! And, that’s precisely what’s on our mood board too!
