AW 20/21: Feeling Bold N Block-ing! #TrendAlert

Colour Block

Who says winter is just grey? This winter, there will be splash and pop of Pink and Red, Green and Purple, Yellow and Red, and what not!! Are you ready to “Colour-block” it?!

Shedding the old grey shade, winter just got experimental! With contrasting palettes blocking the trend, this Autumn-Winter is witnessing the colours of spring taking control. The regulars of the seasons became more confident, eccentric, and bold, just with countable “blocks” that runway trends have amazingly paved.

Bold N Blocking!!

Evolving new winter energy, Colour-block trend took over all the ramps and runways. Be it head-to-toe, party or casual look, there was a vivacious charm oozing out into the aura. Hermes collection hit hard when presented in the striped equestrian playground, with models jumping the blocks in colour-blocked pair-ups. Be it horse-blanket coat with tan leather pockets, subtly worked ends, polo shirt dress or a bright colour-blocked jockey sweater, there was a groovy flavour to each! From Alberta Ferretti’s impressive get-together of red, fuchsia and orange, to Carolina Herrera’s one-shoulder necklines with bright palettes, ramp brought out the playful side of this trend.

And if you thought that this trend couldn’t get more experimental, Gucci was all about blocking the hues to the max. With a nerdy play of colours and infusing the whole silhouette, Gucci undoubtedly raised the bars!! With Saint Laurent’s uninhibited sense of colour, working the classic YSL palette through extremely non-classic latex. And Molly Goddard’s blocking effect to their classic feminine vibe, was a romance with a touch of elegance!

Block Me Bold

After the dance and flow of colour block on the runways, the celebs too were quick to pick it up! From Cate Blanchet bringing out the chic in casual to Tracee Ellis Ross enchanting us with pretty much all bright hues, the colour block crush was quite evident. From Eva Mendes, Zendaya, and Rita Ora to Doja Cat, Ava Max, Dua Lipa, and BlackPink girls, all were seen head-to-toe painted in blocks of contrast pigments.

Our celebrated fashionista Komal Pandey was seen flaunting the contrasting colours in a quite sassy way.
