The Colour to be Seen in This SS19 – Sand! #Fashionwatch

After all the colours and silhouettes that made the Spring Summer 2019 ramps and runways, also award red carpets, premieres and film festivals, there was a subtle trend slowly moving into the limelight. Can you make a guess? It was the Shades of Sand.

When there can be a foundation in all skin tones, then why shouldn’t there be outfit colours that suit all too? Going monochrome this season, the sand palette was on a major high with head to toe shades. From Dior’s floral runway and flowy beige dresses to Chanel’s walk down the beach, straw hats and laced outfits, beige this season had a whole range to choose from.

Unapologetically Beige

Alberta Ferretti also brought out this colour’s sophistication with pant-suits and laced flowy dresses that said – understated yet stand out. Georges Shobeika, on the other hand, was all about going over the top with Beyonce’s lion outfit (just in time for Lion King). Creamy tans, caramel, taupe, toffee – the sand inspiration was surely bringing out a range of colours that we’ve been missing out all this while. Tom Ford, Max Mara, Dion Lee were some of the other designers who were going head-to-toe sand and that too with all the accessories. Make way for Beige!

Beige is the New Black

And when the ramps and runways are crowded with this colour palette, the celebrities weren’t gonna stand back and watch now, were they? From street styles of Caroline Daur, Gala Gonzalez to Bella Hadid’s after-party look, Rosamund Pike and Eva Longoria’s Cannes pantsuit, there was one for all and all for one with this shade. With Amber Heard’s oh-so-silky shade, Yami Gautam’s checkered patterns and Alia Bhatt’s frilly photoshoot, one thing was clear. The sand shade is here to stay and that too, in all forms of fashion!

Translating this Spring Summer 2019 trend into fine jewellery, we made sure that we capture the essence of this colour. Mixing beige and peach pearls with rose and yellow gold, we created a colour palette that suits this new trend in your wardrobe!
