AW 19/20: The Hat Takeover of the Season! #NewLaunch

There’s a new accessory in town and right in time for winter too! Saves our hair, covers our ears and basically makes us all look a little cooler…Can you guess the trend?

Under the Save Our Hair initiative, Autumn-Winter 2019/20 just got a whole lot trendier with hats making a comeback. From work to play, hats this season is for all moods and possibly all outfits too. From bucket to beret, headgear is the new way to go. Whether it’s about going OTT or a minimal add-on to your attire, hats are THE accessory of the season you’ll need before stepping out. Just like the Queen!

Hello, Hats!

The ramps and runways were completely in to take this trend up. With Chanel’s winter clothing, stylised fedora hats debuted in contrasting and monochrome prints. Whoever said you can’t do head-to-toe checks, is surely about to get schooled. Christian Dior too, added the hat accessory with net overlaps, check to leopard prints and leather styles. Pairing them with gowns to pant-suits, hats were up for it all. Anrealage portrayed the fun side of hats with pom-pom inspired ones while Tom Ford showcased structure in Fedora-styled looks. A look to try on this winter, Tom Ford had the sophisticated nailed to the floor.

Valentino’s inspiration from the Renaissance and The Handmaid’s Tale was quite evident with elongated cloche hats. Paired up with trench coats to LBDs, hats were made of lace as well as constituted of prints. Nina Ricci too played with the Cloche hat, that ranged between pastels, earthy to neon. If you thought the beanie hat talks about casuals, Marc Jacobs is up for the challenge. Adding the evening wear touch, there were ample of feather-strewn ballgowns and hats to pick from. Saint Laurent too, took the Fedora path by pairing them with short-suits, boots and yes, printed tights.

From Dolce and Gabbana’s exaggerated millinery, Michael Kors so-70s newspaper boy hats to Alberta Ferretti’s cowboyish suits, it was the season of the hats.

Hat to Happen

After the hats takeover across all runways, the celebrities were all set to kick it up a notch. With Mrs Maisel in tow, hats were already trending on the TV front. On the other hand, with Lady Gaga’s over the top look, it was all the more obvious. With the British royalty leading the way, celebs like Gigi Hadid, Bella Hadid, Janelle Monae, Jane Fonda and Zendaya were set with their looks. Meanwhile, on the home ground, this trend was all set to be a part of casuals with Sara Ali Khan, Alia Bhatt, Kalki, Sonam Kapoor and Sonakshi Sinha. Talk about a trend for all? This is the one.
