After all the colour rage that was Spring Summer 2019, it was time to get down to Earth with the new colour trend of the season – Beige!
While Dior had us gawking at the ballet dancers and the flower petals, the serene colour palette wasn’t far behind. Taking inspiration from all shades beige, there was a lot to take in (and add on) from the show. From pleated skirts, sheer dresses to off-shoulder tops and monochrome pantsuits, the collection had a bit for all occasions and everybody.
Showing off the subdued yet sophisticated colour trend of the season, beige, tan, soybean, pale khaki, cream tan and caramel were some of the shades prominently seen on the ramps. This season the trend was not just about going head-to-toe but also pairing up different shades together. After the print and the pastel mania, there’s surely a new colour palette to drool over.
The Rage of Beige
While AWAKE was creating a pairing of white and other neutral shades, Chloe was also about adding that little print to those head-to-toe getups. Mixed with the Californian vibe of seashells, this colour trend had a bit of all trend to give a plethora of options to choose from. Chanel too brought out the beach-side clothing with prints, lace and even fringe! Talk about a versatile colour and here’s the Sand shade to take you up on that challenge.
Balmain took the sand shade to a whole other level by creating pair-ups of leather pants and denim and let’s not forget the heels! Standing true to the head-to-toe connotation, Tom Ford, Max Mara and Burberry paired up multiple shades in this colour palette for the ultimate power suit – Talk about confident yet sombre looks. Rochas took the delicate road and created outfits with sheer fabrics and lace combined with the delicate cream tan shades. A chic and classy take on this colour palette, these hues became the talk of the town in no time.
Celebs Caramel Crush
After the ramp takeover, celebs were surely ready to experiment with this understated yet bold head-to-toe style. From Eva Longoria’s and Bella Hadid’s take on the Cannes red carpet to Rosie Huntington, Rosamund Pike, Amber Heard and even Beyonce (yes, the Queen B herself), the beige rage was evident. Rihanna’s Fenty also did not disappoint where this colour trend was considered.
On the home ground too, celebrities were crushing over this trend for every occasion. Soha Ali Khan, Malaika Arora, Alia Bhatt, Yami Gautam, Sonam Kapoor and Parineeti Chopra were just Some of the celebs to try on this fashion. From evening wear to a casual day out, there’s a whole range of silhouettes to choose from.
