With positivity being the need of the hour, fashion too had it as one of its macro trends. And in its banner, Pastels became one of the highlights with all the ramps, runways, red carpets and even a little streetwear shining in their pretty pastel avatar. Particular Proclivity for Pastels The ramps and runways this season did not take pastels in their larger than life forms but with a more relaxed, comfortable and subtle style. With a minimal take on these sorbet hues, it was about adding calm with just the right amount of colour. Clearwater Blue, Baby Pink, Egg-Yolk pastel Yellow, Pressed Rose, Pastel Pepper Stem, Lemon Verbena, and Light Lavender were some hues taking…

Say hello to the new power dress of the season! The key highlights? Imagine the 70s, the Disco collar, long blazers, waistcoats and flared pants – all coming together to form the suit. The Pant Suit. Quoting Barney Stinson (’cause of course we have to!), it is time to Suit Up! And that too, in all the vintage looks and three-piece suits. Low slung trousers, power shoulders, disco collar and an array of colours were visible across all the ramps and runways. A key element of the 1970s, the pantsuit was about pursuing equality as women entered the workforce. One of the major influencers of the Pantsuit was the movie Annie Hall, which showcased Diane Keaton wearing this attire on a daily basis (and pulling it off, if we must say). Margot Kidder in Superman (See: Louis Lane) was also a suit – spiration if we must say! Keeping it…

Making a comeback, this trend is a mix of the 80s power suit and graceful feminine touches. Saint Laurent’s collection of both bright and black tones included a touch of grace and drama with cinched waistlines. While on the other hand, Rich Owens dramatic curved shoulders gave a new meaning to power coats. Look at Me Shoulders Exaggerated, extravagant and edgy was the shoulders theme this autumn-winter, making workwear, not just functional but also eye-catchy.
