SS’20: Ode to the French Suave! #TrendAlert

Say hello to a classic refresh! Think knee-length skirts, ruffles, pleats and all paired with boots! We’re bringing back the French fashion and in all its poise too.

Bourgeois fashion is back! And with a modern twist too. This trend is carrying on this season with one side depicting the 70s classics and the other adding on that tinge of sophistication from the millennial era. With contrasting mod prints, bohemian layers and retro accessories, it is the formal blend that anyone was Ever looking for.

Parisienne Posh

The designers were all set to add on a new flair to this trend. From Victoria Beckham’s buttoned-up approach to neat pencil skirts that were the Gucci show, there was a lot to watch out for. Celine’s collection was the perfect ode to this Parisian trend. From leather jackets, bow-ties, pleated skirts, ruffles and all things feminine to knee-length boots and practical bags, Paris was the undertone of the show.

Michael Kors, on the other hand, had a more Blue-Grey aesthetic tone that was both elegant and totally SS20. With clashing prints and metallic additions, it was all about confidence. From Balenciaga’s OTT power shoulders to Burberry classic-meets-neutral attires, there was a formal yet feminine environment all around. Fendi went with a tad-more of a feminine-mod look with graphic tees paired with knee-length skirts and adding Pink to the whole neutrals affair.

From Marc Jacobs, very retro hat-pair ups, Prada’s metallic fringe addition to Rodarte’s well-vested collection of prints, it was the ideal mix of feminine and bourgeois.

Prim And Prime

The celebs too were having fun with this trend by mixing their timeless attires with a rad refresh. From Meghan Markle, Gigi Hadid, Celine Dion, Sonam Kapoor to Sonakshi Sinha, Deepika Padukone and Taapsee Pannu, there was every French madame styling in the book!
