AW 19/20: Go Big on Bold & Bigger on Sleeves! #newlaunch

The sleeves are going gaga this season in all their dramatic, voluminous and bold styles and we can’t get enough! Gone are the prints and the plaids, now it’s all about the sleeve play.

After oversized hats and bags, it was time to have a take on clothing. And Autumn-Winter 2019/20 was just that. With oversized sleeves in puff, balloon, ruffles and even shoulder pads, there was a lot of sleeve talk around town. From Khaite’s ruffled layers, Balenciaga’s solid hues to Y Project’s take on patchwork and even simplicity, this time it was all about being bold with a touch of minimalism.

Confused? Here’s what the trend is about – showing off the minimal look with just a little drama. With a different take, this time sleeves are continuous with minimum embellishment. For example, Fendi’s pantsuits comprising of bishop sleeves with structured patterns, creating a contrast in a subtle form. Sachin and Babi was another designer who played with minimum sleeves, in Earth tones and prints that could brighten up any rainy day! Now that’s a sleeve train we’d jump on.

From Inspiration to Creation

After the sleeves taking over the ramps, runways and even red carpets, we were surely feeling inspired. With a range in gold, we created a collection with a continuous single strand and loops to add an edgy feel. Perfect addition for both work and play, the motifs are twisted and twirled strands that’ll add rhythm to your movement!

Here’s what we have in store for you!

On the Celeb Sleeve

The celebrities were all set to embrace this sleeve story for any/all coffee runs and we can’t get enough of it. From Rupi Kaur’s dance move scroller to Rhea Kapoor and Sonam Kapoor’s twinning looks, the sleeves were taking over Instagram (and our bookmark section) like never before! After all the focus on shoulders, fabrics and whatnots, sleeves were all set to shine. From Lilly Singh and Sonakshi Sinha to Gigi Hadid and Keira Knightly, it was the sleeves moment to shine.

Special Mention: All celebs aside, Malaika Arora Khan’s glitter-blue dress and billowy sleeves with matching eye-liner have us completely floored!
