Bourgeois has been a major trend over the past year, and it’s definitely not ready to step back! Paying homage to this never-dying trend, this season was a combination of the old and new. With leather, frills, bow ties and spandex additions, Autumn-Winter 2020 has a new posh vibe to fall for.
Parisian Look of the Cool 70s Kind!
The ramps were all set to follow this Bourgeois look for the 21st century with their own interpretations. Celine, staying true to their Very Parisian styling paired short-suits with bow tie shirts and stockings. Chloe, on the other hand, added lace fabrics, broad belts over blazers and yes, boots to twist it up a bit.
Saint Laurent’s collection was the perfect mix of old-meets-new, presenting a vision of blazers, sheer shirts and latex pants. From check patterns to leather blazers, this collection was not to be missed. Fendi added a little femininity to their collection with puffed sleeves, flared skirts while Lanvin had all the fur coats to appeal to the posh vibe without missing a beat!
Alberta Ferretti channelled the pantsuit energy with fun prints, colours and textures, while on the other hand, Carolina Herrera was ready to bring in the print to Paris this season. From Givenchy’s very checked and belted collection, Victoria Beckham’s colour co-ords that put you in the limelight, to Prada’s textures and print play, it was surely a new way to bourgeois.

While the ramps were brimming with elegance, the streets were all set to flaunt their styles too. And not just the streets, red carpets, award shows and whatnot. While Zendaya was all about posh styling, there was Katherine Waterston in a vision of White and Yara Shahidi reminding us of layers and very Parisian styling.
On the home ground too, the celebs were dressing up with their own bourgeois blends. From Sonam Kapoor, Bhumi Pednekar, to Kajol, a lot was happening – the french poise kind.
