The atmosphere was dark, with withering roses and a violin cover of Bad Romance playing in the background. Everything had a dark yet romantic touch to it. What was it, you ask? It was the new floral trend of the season.

After flowers blooming all over during spring, it was time for the winter garden to show up. And that’s exactly what went down this Autumn-Winter season. Taking a withered yet bloomed touch, it was all about roses, that too, with its thorns. From going all-over on a dark backdrop to a deconstructed look, the dark and broody mood was surely visible in the air. Taking inspiration from the grunge era, this season’s florals had a romantic touch (thanks to the roses) but with a rebellious nature. With a touch of femininity in all it’s fierceness, this season it’s all about standing out.
