AW 20/21: For the Love of Bows! #TrendAlert

Bow & Breezy is the new in thing! This Autumn-Winter 2020, bows are back in the game and with a whole innocent lookout!

From women wearing hair bows in the Victorian era to OTT bows of 2018, this trend has gone back and forth on style over the years. Be it 1940s, when teenage girls wore it as a sign of surmounting femininity or the cushiony large posh bows of the 1980s – bows have been a part of fashion since forever. And yet, this season they are here with a new take!

The Bow Squad!

Bowing to the playful feel of bows, this season the ramps were packed with knots, ribbons and whatnots! Designers were not only placing bows on top of hats but also adding them to dresses as neckties, tulle additions and more. Christopher Kane added the bling to bows with his retro meets mod vibe while Cinq a Sept added the caz to the bow.

Elie Saab complemented the feminine with bows with lace and tulle, while Carolina Herrera had giant bows adorning the shoulders and sleeves for a subtle style. Oscar de la Renta hit all the casual notes with a little frill-cute, while on the other hand, Moschino added a doll vibe to this trend.

Be it the scattered bow experiment by Gucci or extra-large knots by Viktor & Rolf, this trend was on point. From voluminous taffeta bows by Giambattista Valli and Ralph & Russo to subtle ones at Alexander McQueen, these ribbons were the talk of the town – in all, it’s playful, experimental vibe.

Infinite Ways, Infinite Looks!

After all the runway love, the celebs were indeed seen taking note of bow. From Zendaya’s head-to-toe orange ensemble to Cara Delavigne’s childhood set-up styling for ODLR, one thing was clear. It would be raining bows this season! Mandy Moore, Amy Jackson, Lupita Nyongo, Hilary Swank and Nicole Trunfio were all part of the Bow takeover.

And then there was Rita Ora, stepping out with her calm, casual and pastel bow addition that had all our reactions in an emoji form. Talk about capturing the moment!

On the Bollywood side too, there were red carpet feels to gym wear looks. From Ananya Panday, Tara Sutaria, Sara Ali Khan, Taapsee Pannu to Preity Zinta, Yuvika Chaudhary and Malaika Arora, it was a bow to remember.

The Playful Bows

With a playful aura and joyous mood, the bow trend had to inspire its way to our collection! Pulling inspiration from this rainbow of emotions, our range in gold pays homage to a happy remembrance of our childhood.
