AW 19/20: Be Carefree this Season, with Off-Shoulders! #Newlaunch

After all the craze for drama, theatrics and all things volume, the Autumn Winter 2019/20 took a new turn towards an uber-cool, effortless trend. Easy to don and even easier to pick up, it’s all about off-shoulders. Baring the shoulders this season, the sexy-meets-sweet trend took a new turn and came up with an edgier format than before. Combined with mega-sized sleeves or a lopsided look, the focus lay on the neckline. From Caroline Herrera’s all bright and sunny print ones to Zimmermann’s ruffled edges and scarf prints, there was a whole lot of shoulder play on the ramps. The trend saw many translations this season, from one off-shoulder to lazy drop shoulders, that complemented the casual as well as the party vibe. Prada took a complete off-shoulder look with an edgier look combining it with solids and even floral prints that complemented the gothic feel of the season. From…

The Making of: AW 19/20 Amplified Volume Collection! #Storyboard

After the whole ruffle trouble of Spring Summer 2019, the layers were not quite done yet! With tons and tons of fabric, Autumn-Winter 19/20 has become a whole lot frilly! From layers of sheer fabrics to ruffled up multi-coloured ones, volume was the key element of this season. Draped like a spectacle, it was all about bringing out the theatrical side of things. Looking back at costumes, this season was a whole lot of drama, frou and frills that couldn’t be missed! With XXL gowns at Giambattista Valli’s show to Tomo Koizumi’s multi-coloured frills (bowing down here), there was a lot of oomph on the runway. While Carolina Herrera brought out the oh-so-comfy feel, Nina Ricci, Valentino and Emilia Wickstead had vibrant tones and jaw-dropping vibes. Many designers like Brandon Maxwell, Roksanda and Marc Jacobs followed suit with their head to toe additions of volume – All set to gate-crash…

5 Ways to Style Sequins for Work! #Trendalert

The party favourite is back! But…with a daylight disco effect. Confused? We’re talking about sequins…and that too, for work. In a never-seen-before avatar, sequins have moved away from its quintessential party zone this autumn-winter and entered the workwear arena in all its grandeur. Bringing the bling to the office, sequins have become structured and ready to grab the attention in a meeting room. Celine’s collection of 70s formal shirt and plaid skirt combined with a sequin blazer forms the perfect example of what this trend held for us. From Dries Van Noten’s shoulder-padded top to Christopher Kane’s ornamentation, there was a whole lotta shine that couldn’t be missed. Area, Koche, Michael Kors and Tom Ford were some of the other designers taking their road to safe-for-work sequins. While the ramps were surely shining away, the celebs weren’t far behind in taking this trend up a notch. From Miley Cyrus’s Elle…

The Making of: Dark Romance Collection! #Storyboard

The atmosphere was dark, with withering roses and a violin cover of Bad Romance playing in the background. Everything had a dark yet romantic touch to it. What was it, you ask? It was the new floral trend of the season. After flowers blooming all over during spring, it was time for the winter garden to show up. And that’s exactly what went down this Autumn-Winter season. Taking a withered yet bloomed touch, it was all about roses, that too, with its thorns. From going all-over on a dark backdrop to a deconstructed look, the dark and broody mood was surely visible in the air. Taking inspiration from the grunge era, this season’s florals had a romantic touch (thanks to the roses) but with a rebellious nature. With a touch of femininity in all it’s fierceness, this season it’s all about standing out.  Here’s how we took this inspiration forward:…

AW 19/20: Slay it with Sleeves This Season! #Trendalert

After all the OTT love for all things black, feathers and neon colours, there’s room for some more, and this season, it’s all about the sleeves! From layers to ruffles to hanging ones, the sleeve has taken over fashion like never before. Whether it was Marc Jacobs version of fabric and feather twirls or Rodarte’s feminine puffed and ruffles of sleeves, there was a whole lot of sleeve love on the ramps. In combination with other trends of the season, sleeves played a part with all the drama it could muster. Dramatic Sleeves Taking inspiration from the 70s era dressing, big sleeves made a comeback this season in their larger-than-life vibe. From bell-shaped, puffed, balloon to cold-shoulder, sleeves took the spotlight with their statement looks. Where J W Anderson combined the sleeve action with plaids and knitted fabrics, Roksanda’s collection was an ode to all bright colours and vibrant looks.…
