SS ’20: All About Rock Star Tailoring! #TrendAlert

Say hello to the new power dress of the season! The key highlights? Imagine the 70s, the Disco collar, long blazers, waistcoats and flared pants – all coming together to form the suit. The Pant Suit. Quoting Barney Stinson (’cause of course we have to!), it is time to Suit Up! And that too, in all the vintage looks and three-piece suits. Low slung trousers, power shoulders, disco collar and an array of colours were visible across all the ramps and runways. A key element of the 1970s, the pantsuit was about pursuing equality as women entered the workforce. One of the major influencers of the Pantsuit was the movie Annie Hall, which showcased Diane Keaton wearing this attire on a daily basis (and pulling it off, if we must say). Margot Kidder in Superman (See: Louis Lane) was also a suit – spiration if we must say! Keeping it…

Let the watercolours take over! Spring Summer 2020 is back with tie-dye, in all it’s ombre shades! Tie and dye made a comeback this season in all its bright hues, patchwork and all over effects! But what’s the difference you ask? This season it has a watercolour effect, unlike last year’s patterned ones. No patterns, no designs, just splashes of colour for your new look! Inspired by the DIY community and 70s styling, of course, this trend has a hippie touch to it with faded shades and hallucinogenic finishes. This trend became a way of self-expression for many individuals in the 1960s. A simple, inexpensive and more importantly, a unique trend that could be created right in your backyard! Colour – It – Yourself this Season! With all the colours raging this Spring, the ramps were surely having a gala time. While Longchamp showcased ombre shading on pleated dresses, Prabal…

Forget chunky weaves! it’s about loose knits colours that remind us of ice cream and a total -perfect-for-the-beach mood. Crafting in Crochet Crochet was headlining on the ramps! After all the quilting vibes a few seasons back, who was the star this season? It was the art of crochet. Evolving…
